SHERIDAN, WY, UNITED STATES, September 21, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ -- Proposed mine expansion targets 100–150 tons per day; QED Connect advances Colombian AI training, agricultural traceability and workforce-development initiatives

Energy Today, Inc. (OTC: NRGT) and QED Connect, Inc. (OTC: QEDN) today announced several business-development initiatives involving the La Palmichala gold project, the Servicio Nacional de Aprendizaje (SENA), Socrates AI and AiHammock.

Energy Today Plans Second Meeting With Trafigura

Energy Today expects to hold a second meeting with Trafigura to discuss a potential investment and concentrate-purchase structure intended to support the expansion of the La Palmichala mining operation in Remedios, Antioquia, Colombia. No definitive financing or offtake agreement has been executed, and any transaction remains subject to negotiation, due diligence, regulatory requirements and final documentation.

The proposed development program would be designed to:

expand mining activity on Level 5;

connect the Level 5 workings with the main tunnel;

open an additional tunnel to access a third mineralized vein known as La Bedoya;

develop a secondary route from the main tunnel to improve access, ventilation, logistics and operational safety; and

create the infrastructure route toward the area where a new processing plant may eventually be constructed, subject to engineering studies, permits and financing.

If completed as contemplated, the expansion and future processing facilities are expected to target production of approximately 100–150 tons of ore per day, with anticipated grades of approximately 3–7 grams of gold per ton. These production and grade figures are targets only and are not guarantees of future performance.

The parties plan to discuss a proposed structure under which Trafigura would provide financing without conventional cash interest and, in exchange, would purchase La Palmichala's concentrate production under a negotiated offtake arrangement. The contemplated terms include a minimum shipment of approximately 26 metric tons of concentrate per 40-foot container. The final commercial terms, including payable percentages, treatment charges, refining charges, penalties, logistics, assays and silver credits, remain subject to negotiation.

Trafigura is one of the world's largest commodity companies. It connects producers and consumers of minerals, metals and energy through market expertise, logistics, infrastructure and financing, including financing linked to purchasing agreements.

Illustrative Concentrate Shipment Economics

For illustration only, using La Palmichala's previously reported concentrate-grade range of 42–68 grams of gold per metric ton, a 26-metric-ton container would contain an estimated 1,092–1,768 grams of gold, equivalent to approximately 35.11–56.84 troy ounces.

Using a reference spot-gold price of $4,346 per troy ounce on September 21, 2026:

Accordingly, the illustrative gold payment per container would range from approximately $115,962 to $197,630, depending on grade and the applicable 76%–80% payable percentage. Potential silver payments are not included and would be additional, subject to the final silver assay, payable terms and contract deductions. Actual settlement values will vary with final assays, moisture, recovery, metal prices, refining and treatment charges, penalties, transportation costs and other contractual adjustments.

Projected Monthly Revenue From 10–15 Containers

As an initial shipping objective, La Palmichala plans to work toward shipping approximately 10–15 containers of concentrate per month, representing approximately 260–390 metric tons of concentrate. Based on the same illustrative assumptions—26 metric tons per container, concentrate grades of 42–68 g/t, a reference gold price of $4,346 per troy ounce and a payable rate of 76%–80%—the projected monthly values would be:

Under these assumptions, shipping 10–15 containers per month could generate an estimated gross reference value of approximately $1.53 million to $3.71 million per month. After applying a 76%–80% payable factor, estimated monthly gold proceeds could range from approximately $1.16 million to $2.96 million, before treatment, refining, transportation, insurance, penalties, taxes and other contractual deductions. Silver credits would be additional and would depend on final assays and commercial terms.

On an annualized basis, if the operation consistently ships 10–15 containers every month under the same assumptions, the estimated gross reference value would range from approximately $18.31 million to $44.47 million per year, while estimated gold proceeds after the 76%–80% payable factor would range from approximately $13.92 million to $35.57 million per year, before applicable deductions. These figures are mathematical projections only and do not constitute production guidance or a revenue forecast.

La Palmichala's longer-term monthly concentrate objective of 1,000–1,500 metric tons would represent approximately 38–58 container loads per month at 26 metric tons per container. On a full-container basis, 1,000 tons would fill 38 containers with approximately 12 tons remaining, while 1,500 tons would fill 57 containers with approximately 18 tons remaining.

QED Connect Environmental and Agricultural Technology Initiatives

QED Connect plans to support Energy Today's environmental, sustainability and traceability programs through initiatives involving sacha inchi, coffee and Socrates AI. These programs are expected to focus on environmental-data organization, farm and supply-chain traceability, documentation, monitoring and community-based productive projects. Any environmental compliance work will remain subject to applicable Colombian law, technical studies and approval by the relevant authorities.

QED Connect also expects to meet with SENA this week to discuss a proposed pilot program combining Socrates AI with Colombia's coffee sector. The broader program is designed to train and deploy agricultural data technicians—or “Data Farm Techs”—to work directly with farmers, initially in coffee and later in cacao, avocado and other agricultural products.

At full scale, QED Connect estimates that the program could support the creation of more than 14,500 jobs in Colombia through field data collection, verification, traceability, certification support and AI-assisted agricultural services. This employment figure is a program objective and will depend on pilot results, institutional approvals, funding, farmer participation and phased implementation.

SENA is Colombia's national public vocational-training institution. It provides free technical, technological and complementary training intended to strengthen employment, entrepreneurship and the country's productive sectors.

QED Connect Announces AiHammock Distribution Agreement

QED Connect further announced an agreement to become a distributor of AiHammock. Through the relationship, QED Connect plans to promote practical AI education and certification while giving qualified participants the opportunity to earn income as AiHammock distributors, subject to the applicable program terms.

AiHammock is an applied-AI education and certification platform designed for non-technical professionals. Its program teaches participants how to understand AI, apply it to everyday work and automate recurring tasks. Participants who complete the required assessment and practical project can earn a verifiable AiHammock Applied AI Certification.

“These initiatives bring together responsible mineral development, international market access, environmental traceability and practical AI education,” said [NAME AND TITLE]. “Our objective is to expand production responsibly at La Palmichala while building technology-enabled opportunities for farmers, technicians and entrepreneurs throughout Colombia.”
